So I was taking a walk the other day and I saw a pony.

A gray pony, pacing up and down the sidewalk.

She seemed to be a bit interested as if she had saw something and was having a hard time identifying it.

So after watchin' her struggle for a while, I decided to go over and lend a helping-hoof, y'know?

"Hello Miss, can I be of any assistance? It seems to me that you have found something and I would like to help you identify it."

She replied, "Oh yes, you have found something. You've found...a rock."

So to briefly summarize, there are three things that pushed me toward watching the show these two years ago:

1. Friendship...My friend Brianna toward the end of senior stole my assignment book in chorus class. I tried to watch her with it and upon return, I flipped to a doodle of what she had drawn. I inquired what the thing she drew was. "That's an alicorn." In response to my puzzled look, she explained a bit about the show and to give it a try. She had a bit of leverage because we share other similar interests in shows and games.

2. Random YouTube browsing...I spend a decent amount of time online. Shopping, looking at art, being "social" and most prominently listening/watching YouTube videos are just the things I enjoy doing on down time. I found a couple of videos about the game Moonbase Alpha. The game is supposed to be a "space simulator", but it is most well known for people playing about with the text to speech program in the game. I found this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1B488z1MmaA [pony stuff starts at 2:16]) and listened to some of the songs they were able to play through the program. I don't know why, but the songs just really stuck out and upon further investigation; I was like, "My Little Pony? Huh."

3. Boredom...Long story short, My dad had to get shoulder surgery and post op I had to keep and eye on him for 48 hours. So what did I do in that time? That's right. Watched MLP.

I was hooked after episode 1 and the "what happens next?" factor really got a hold of me. It was such a weird reality that I was watching and enjoying a little girls show. Not only that, but I was missing out for so long!

That is the smell of discovery my friends.
As of yesterday, it has been two years since I first started watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. It's really hard to believe how this show has affected my life like nothing has before it. And even more so, where I'd be without it.

I have enjoyed a lot of what this fandom has to offer: the art, the music, the animations, etc. It even re-awoke a big part of my creative intuition. The show makes me feel great and without it who knows where I'd be. Not only that, but the communities I've been a part of as a result of watching the show have given me something so great, a home where people get it.

You guys are so true to life and no matter how far we fall, we care enough to help one another bounce back.

I want to thank all of you that I've met so far.

Yay, Daily Maud #128!

128 is one of my favorite numbers so I thought I'd steal this one from Enigma today. I honestly just love, love, love any power of 2, they just feel so clean and complete. From someone who comes from a software-savvy family and my excellence in mathematics classes to my time playing Minecraft, this set of numbers have just always stuck with me.

This picture is so cute. And what do you know, Maud is holding a box! What's inside I don't know, but that basic geometric solid is just so pleasing to look at. It's so even and clean...

Heh. Even as a fan of the #1 rock pony in Equestria, I find my own obsessions as well.

Maud sure is stylin' and profilin' in this piece. She look so confident as if her goal were to attack the day. Or perhaps she stands tall as she has prepared for a new expedition to find rare and exotic rocks. After all, the world is made up of made up of many rocks.

As Maud is my favorite pony, combined with my artistic "talent", it'd be wrong not to assume that she gets drawn A LOT.

My Little Pony opens up a whole universe for creativity of the fans and with practice it becomes second nature to doodle a cool pony in a notebook, or conversely; craft a magnificent masterpiece. And goodness knows if you draw everyday, even if it isn't pony, you'll start to see significant improvement from where you began. But even if you're not the most skilled, fear not; because the most important part to remember is the FUN part :)

It has actually come to the point where it's easy to draw Maud as she's the most drawn pony from me. It's just so cool to be able to put her in a situation perhaps she hasn't been in before (in art or in the show.)

Hello! This is a pretty neat picture.

At first I was confused what it was supposed to be, if it was a reference to the end of either Portal game or what. Then I found the link sourced in the caption there and apparently, the flash there has seven different clickable items; a horseshoe, the spool, the scarecrow, Maud, Boulder, the typewriter, and the Companion Cube.

How it works is that clicking each produces a different sound. Now, the goal isn't actually ultimately done in the flash itself; you have to guess what the correct combination of the melody is from those seven clickables and comment it in the comment section at that link. The prize is a safe requested drawing from the artist themselves!

This contest may or may not be over by the time this gets, posted, but I still thought it was really neat to see something such a creative way of offering a request to someone! I love when people get all artsy like this, it's so cool.

Anyways, I know it feels like the images today are kind of switched since this one is more daytime, but I still think it's nice. Besides, maybe you're getting a bit tired of the dark right now and need some sunshine and MAUD in your life! How are you all doing tonight?

Maud and Starlight flying kites together? All of my yes!

Honestly, I haven't flown a kite myself in forever. It must be fun though. And before that episode, I had no idea Starlight would ever be interested in that sort of stuff. It's interesting that she is, though! Certainly adds to her character and makes her more interesting and, well, cute. :3

Maud could maybe know a thing or two that would help with kites. I mean, there aren't really rocks involved that much in it, but perhaps she knows about sturdiness, air resistance, et cetera? Regardless, Starlight would still probably be able to teach her a good bit about it.

I'd personally love to fly a kite with both of them as well. It'd be so sweet and fun~

Maud and Trixie are definitely a pair I want to see happen in anything more often. I don't entirely ship them but the notion is nice, just from the fact that Trixie worked on a rock farm before the Alicorn Amulet incident.

Come to think of it, Maud may have helped both Trixie and Starlight do evil stuff. Trixie was somehow led to the Alicorn Amulet, and of course she showed Starlight where to find an evil staff with powerful diddlydoos in it as well. Is Maud really the villain of the show? :ooo

Hehe, naughty Maud. I'm kidding, she's a nice pony just trying to help ponies out. I'm sure she never meant harm. Isn't that right, Maud?

Maud and Rarity have an interesting dynamic, and I like it.

It makes sense when you think about it. Maud likes rocks, and Rarity likes gemstones, which are just shiny, colorful, translucent rocks. I think the show's done well with their duo appearances thus far. I don't ship them necessarily, but they have a friendship that I just admire. Rarity may not get her but she still respects and has a good time with her. And what more do you need from a friend?

The Daily Maud. It's more than meets the eye.

So...I'm a big Transformers guy. Used to watch Armada all the time when I was little and collected the toys. It was so cool. Now while I've become more of a casual fan over the years, one thing holds true; I always see the new movies with one of my besties since 1st grade, Daniel. We've seen every movie together and because he was also into Armada, it was something special that we shared as friends. 

So at the time of writing this I haven't seen the new movie...but by the time this goes up I will have seen it. Here's hoping for some robot fun!

Okay. C'mon, let's be real. This would be pretty awesome. They could do it. Absolutely, no question.

Hear me out. Starlight lapses back into villainy and seeing as she was potentially the biggest threat to all of Equestria in the show, it'd be no difficult task to harness the element of surprise on the Mane 6 and co. With her vast knowledge of spells and ability to use them, she'd be practically unstoppable. But then, with Maud there, feeding her evil tasks, using her amazing strength and displaying her clever traits, Equestria would have a very difficult time.

Even if this were a short arc or just a bit of fanfiction, it'd be pretty neat to see.

There's a lot of potential here.

Or y'know, they could just be a couple cool characters in a show...

Hey everyone.

Boy, when it rains, it pours out there on the rock farm.

I'll tell ya, this is one of those ships that people had to dig deep for and make some connections. Think about it. Sure, Trixie did depict that she worked on the Pie's farm, but that was in Season 3. Maud wasn't introduced till a whole season later. Then bonds in the fandom were made from there.

Now with Maud and Starlight's relationship being established more in Season 7, it'd be interesting to see how Maud, Trixie and Starlight would interact with each other.

Just some thoughts...

There are a few things one could observe in his relations to his family, Maud especially. Perhaps she took on a bit of his flatness in speech delivery. Or perhaps the desire to dress in some sort of style. Heck, it could be something as simple as loving rocks.

So here's some food for thought. Have you ever noticed how in pieces where Maud's cutie mark is showing, there seems to be some variation on what it is? Seriously, it's kind of bizarre. Some, (myself included) believe it is this. However, some show it as a smaller version of what appears to be Tom.
I'd like to think it is what's pictured above. Not only because it is on the merchandise, but because it is original.
Trust me, I like Tom as much as the next brainwashed Rarity...but he won't ever come close to Maud's awesomeness.
