Hey everyone!
Got a bit of a special post here.
Last year I visited Columbus, Ohio to attend Trotcon and man was it a blast. I had a great time attending panels, buying some cool stuff at the vendors hall and meeting fellow Bronies. But the two things that took the cake were meeting Maud's VA, Ingrid Nilson and a good friend of mine, Appleglenn.
Ingrid is such a magical person. While she's nothing like Maud personality wise, she seemed to be the friendliest person on planet Earth. She came in saying, "Hello friends" or "Hey! It's great to see you!". Made the environment pretty nice right away. Then she started off by singing John Lennon's Imagine. Caught a snippet of it (I'll have to share it sometime.), she has a wonderful singing voice. Then she asked all of us what the show has done for us and me and several others were able to talk to her a bit about it. It was so cool that she took time to respond to what everyone had to say. She then proceeded with the regular Q and A and soon after were signings where she commented on this piece.
"This is really good Aaron, you should illustrate children's books. You'd be fantastic at it."
That was one of the best feelings ever. Maud Pie signed and commented on my art. It was a dream come true.
Later on in the day, I met Appleglenn in the lobby. We had quite a few great chats and had dinner at the local IHOP. It was just about as awesome meeting Ingrid, because he's someone I have a lot in common with and it's special when you meet someone who shares this deep interest in the show.
Tomorrow I leave early in the morning to make my way to Cbus again for Trotcon. Here's hoping for a great trip and fantastic time.
Sorry bout the long post.
How is everyone tonight?
